Overview

Igtrackr lets you pull basic analytics from any public Instagram profile without needing to log in to Instagram or install an app. You type a handle into the web form, and the service returns the current follower count, a list of recent follows, unfollows, engagement metrics and the account's top posts. The tool is presented as a free, read‑only analytics dashboard that also offers email alerts when a profile's numbers change.
The service targets creators, influencers, agencies, marketers and social‑media managers who need quick insight into competitor or partner accounts. After creating a free igtrackr account in about ten seconds, no credit card or Instagram password required, you can add a profile to your personal dashboard. The free plan stores one profile and creates a snapshot of its data every three days; a paid tier expands the number of tracked profiles and switches the snapshot frequency to daily. All data is gathered from publicly available Instagram information, so the tool works only with accounts that are not set to private.
To start, you paste a public Instagram username into the input field on the homepage. Igtrackr then fetches live data that includes:
- Followers, the total number of followers shown on the public profile.
- Recent follows, a chronological list of accounts the user has followed, sorted by time (e.g., “just now”, “2 h ago”).
- Unfollows, detected changes in follower count that indicate people who have stopped following.
- Engagement rate, calculated as (average likes + average comments) ÷ followers × 100, with a benchmark that compares the result to other accounts of similar size.
- Top posts, the most liked or commented posts, displayed with basic metrics such as likes, comments and engagement percentage.
- Hashtag insights, for any hashtag you enter, the tool shows total post volume and recent activity, helping you gauge reach and momentum.
The interface also includes a Profile Analyzer that aggregates these metrics into a single view, an Engagement Rate Calculator that adds niche‑specific benchmarks, and a Hashtag Analyzer that can be used to research tags before posting. All results can be downloaded as CSV or JSON files, allowing you to import the data into spreadsheets or other analysis tools.
