The service runs the AI processing in the cloud, so you do not need a dedicated graphics card or any software installation. You can open a free camera preview without logging in, and a freemium model is offered for longer sessions.

The tool is aimed at streamers, screen recorders, and role‑players who want to appear as a character or in a particular visual style during live broadcasts or video calls. After granting webcam access, you choose a reference image from a library of 46 original assets, 30 characters, 10 outfits, and 6 art styles, or upload a PNG, JPEG, or WebP that passes moderation. The cloud model redraws each webcam frame to match the reference, then sends the result back to your browser. The output appears in a separate 960 × 540 window that contains only the AI‑generated image, making it easy to capture with OBS Window Capture or to feed into OBS Virtual Camera for Zoom, Google Meet, Discord, or similar platforms.

Using the service involves three steps. First, open your camera; this step is free and does not require a login. Second, pick a face, outfit, or style from the library or upload your own image. Third, sign in with Google, confirm four consent checks (age, rights, no impersonation, identity verification), and press Start. Once live, you can switch between connected webcams, record the output as WebM or MP4 with an AI‑generated label, or stream it directly. All camera frames are processed by a third‑party cloud service and are not stored by LiveFaceSwap.io; only recordings you make remain on your device.
