Overview

VoiceStudio is an open‑source program that runs entirely on local hardware. It lets you clone voices from a 3‑second sample, create new voice profiles, add speech to any video, transcribe audio, and produce audiobook chapters, all in 646 languages. The software is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and as a Docker image and is distributed under the AGPL‑3.0 licence. It does not require a cloud account and no audio is sent off‑device.
The core workflow begins with the “Voice Clone” step, where you upload a short audio clip and receive a voice model that mimics the original speaker. Next, “Voice Design” lets you describe a voice using attributes and generate a new voice model from scratch. Both steps produce a model file that can be reused. The “Video Dubbing” feature accepts any video file and a script; the program places the text into the target language while preserving the original timing. For longer projects, “Stories” lets you cast several roles, each with its own voice model, and “Audiobook” turns an input book into chapters of spoken text. “Transcripts” takes audio and outputs searchable text. All functions are accessible from the main Studio interface or via a local API that can be called from other applications.
VoiceStudio Pro, for professionals, expands the suite with unlimited voice creation, full control over settings, and remote device support, but it requires a paid license (the first seat costs $99 per year, or $299 for a single seat). The free edition still contains all core capabilities, and the source code is downloadable from GitHub or Docker Hub; the installer is a simple PowerShell command on Windows. The program currently has no native ARM build but can run under emulation.
