Overview

Frametell helps you turn documents or lecture notes into narrated, hand‑drawn explainer videos. The service works with PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, EPUB, Markdown files, images, or a single topic statement. After you upload the material, an AI director creates a storyboard, writes a script, voices it, and draws each frame.

You start by selecting the file type; Frametell reads the entire content and builds a plan of the story. The director shows you a page‑by‑page storyboard that includes what the drawing will show and what the narration will say. You can modify any page before it is rendered. Once the storyboard is approved, the system writes the narration, then voices it with a built‑in voice such as Bella from ElevenLabs. Every narration line is timed to the drawing so that text and graphic appear together. The final video is rendered to 1080p MP4, with or without subtitles. The tool supports a range of styles, five built‑in options and a growing market of style templates, which can be applied with a click.

Frametell is available in two modes. The open‑source desktop app runs locally on a Mac, letting you supply your own model and voice APIs. The cloud version operates entirely in the browser; it offers the style market, fast cloud exports, brand kits, and team spaces. The free tier includes 500 credits, enough for about two to three one‑minute films, after which additional credits are required. Both modes are built on the same engine, so the quality and workflow are consistent whether you run locally or in the cloud.
