Overview

Glide screenshot

Glide turns spreadsheets into business apps. Upload the Excel file or Google Sheet your team already runs on, say what you need, and Glide's agent builds a working app for desktop and phone. The product is now branded GlideOS, and Glide says it's used by teams at more than 100,000 businesses.

The interesting piece is how it reads your data. A feature called SheetSense goes through every sheet, including formulas, lookups and notes, to work out what matters before the agent builds anything. Once the app exists, you can click a number to see how it was calculated in plain English, log data from a phone in the field and have the back office update straight away, or ask the agent questions about your business and get answers from live data. Apps are private to your company by default.

You don't have to use Glide's own agent either. On Pro you can build through MCP from an agent you already use, such as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT.

Plans and starting prices

Checked October 2026 on glideapps.com/pricing. Each paid tier lets you pick a bigger credit allowance at a higher price:

  • Free: $0, limited credits, 2 team members, 10 projects, AI features in apps.
  • Basic: from $25/month with 100 credits. 2 published apps, 1 enabled workflow, personal and team apps, and a choice of agent mode (light, medium, heavy).
  • Plus: from $50/month with 250 credits. 3 team members, 5 published apps, 20 projects, 5 workflows and public apps.
  • Pro: from $125/month for 5 members and 500 credits, plus 50 credits per extra member. Unlimited published apps and workflows, premium integrations, org-level roles and human support.
  • Enterprise: custom, with your choice of LLM provider, enterprise integrations, SSO, audit logs and 30-day data backups.

Is it a fit?

Glide is built for internal business apps: the processes that tend to live in a shared spreadsheet that has grown too big, used by the people closest to the work. If you're building a consumer app for the public, a general app builder is a better match.

Pros: starts from data you already have; explainable calculations; strong permission controls on higher tiers.
Cons: published-app and workflow limits on Basic and Plus are tight; credit costs rise with team size on Pro; SSO and audit logs are Enterprise-only.

Alternatives

Lovable and Replit build apps from prompts rather than spreadsheets. To connect the apps you already have, Zapier is the standard choice.
