Overview

PenguinRadar lets you watch public Instagram accounts for changes in their relationships. You simply type a username or paste a profile link and the tool pulls the latest public data: stories, highlights, followers, following, likes on posts and follower counts. From there you can export the follower or following list to a CSV file, giving you a concrete data set you can open in a spreadsheet.

Once an account is selected for tracking, PenguinRadar performs periodic checks. For each check it logs any new follows, new followers and any unfollows. The changes are shown on a timeline, with the date and time the change was first detected. This is useful when you want to see if a brand has started following a new influencer or if a follower has left your list. The free tier provides the basic view of the timeline, while paid tiers add automated email alerts, a mutual‑follow analysis canvas and AI‑driven summaries that explain the changes in plain language.

Creators or social‑media managers often use PenguinRadar to review audience shifts after posting or running a giveaway. Brands and agencies can observe which account a competitor has recently followed. Journalists and researchers may keep tabs on official accounts over long periods. Everyday users can glance at a public profile before deciding to follow back, without needing to log into their own account. PenguinRadar does not offer any tool for private accounts, and it does not require Instagram credentials, so the data comes from publicly available sources only.

For developers, PenguinRadar opens a REST API, an MCP server, a CLI and a Skill that can be installed as a ChatGPT Plugin. These interfaces let you log checks programmatically, pull the timeline data, or embed the story and likes viewer into your own application. The Android beta app offers 200 credits for participation, and credit costs are displayed before each look‑up. However, the site does not disclose any pricing or limits beyond the mention of free start and optional paid plans.
