Overview

Vocca is a voice‑AI assistant that handles patient calls for healthcare practices. It answers calls, books, reschedules or cancels appointments, and follows up with patients 24/7. The service works with more than 1,500 practices, serving around 10 million patients.
The AI speaks in natural language to patients on the phone or via text. It follows each practice's own rules, such as doctors, exam types, prep time, and reserved slots, to place the correct appointment in the correct spot. Passwords, check‑in, and confirmation details are all managed automatically, and the AI can pull invitations from the practice's scheduling software. After the call, a hand‑off summary appears in the dashboard within 21 seconds, showing who called, why, what was booked, and what needs attention. The dashboard then tracks every call, every booking, and every metric from all sites in one place.
Outside of the call, Vocca reaches patients where they are. It can send reminders by WhatsApp, SMS, or voice, and patients typically confirm within the hour. A waitlist automatically refills freed slots and reactivates patients through satisfaction surveys. The platform also sends outbound calls for reminders and follow‑ups, allowing staff to focus on cases that require human attention.
Vocca plugs into 20+ scheduling and patient‑management systems such as EHR, EMR, and practice‑management tools. Integration is native, so no migration or work‑arounds are needed; the connection is up and running in days. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is hosted on infrastructure that is SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HDS certified. The solution complies with HIPAA, GDPR, and other patient‑data protection requirements, with a BAA available on request.
Vocca works in many settings, primary care, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, hospitals, and more. It is designed for both phone and text interactions, and it maintains a 100 % handling rate for certain specialties, such as ophthalmology and medical imaging.
